Colin is a 2 week old Humpback whale who was seperated from his mum about 5 days ago and is now swimming around in Sydney pittwater.
The poor lil' guy is starving and keeps coming up to boats and nudging them trying to get food.
Wildlife services have tried to tow him out to sea in the hope that he will be adopted by a passing pod, but no luck
Our SeaWorld won't take him because they say he is too weak and won't be able to travel. SW and the RSPCA said that there was nothing to be done to save him, so now 'experts' are pushing to have him euthanised to stop his suffering.
I mean...I know theres little chance for him to survive...But I think he should at least be deserved that chance. They should feed him (People have made formula for baby whales before. Orcas, for one. And there was also a story about a baby Grey Whale), then try and get him strong enough to be introduced to a pod later.
Euthanasia just seems so wrong.
Heres a picture of him from some news site. [link]

But...this is just crazy. That's a new life they're trying to end. o_o
They gave animals like JJ the grey whale a new life...I really don't understand why they can't do the same to this little one.

when your life is flashing before your eyes...
...make sure you have plenty to watch
I think it's stupid... they could at least rope him off into a cove or something and feed him until he had enough strength to get dumped near a pod. Maybe their afraid the formula wouldn't be right? Maybe baleen and toothed whales have different protiens and stuff? I have no idea..
